Phil grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated high school from Rowland Hall.  He graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Utah (GO UTES!!).   

Phil is a Financial Advisor at Fidelity Investments.

Our political system of our state and country is of genuine interest and concern to Phil, and he is makes it a point to be involved and informed on current issues, events, current and future legislation and its impact on the people. 

Phil is a big sports fan – you’ll see him at many of the U of U sports events.  His father’s family is from the Boston, MA area, so he is also a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan.  

Phil is married to Merissa and they have two children. Merissa is currently the Vice Principal at Parkside Elementary in the Murray School District.  Through this partnership, Phil has first hand knowledge of education issues that Utah faces.

The Graves family loves to travel, ski, golf and hike.  Most often, the household includes a foster dog.  Over twenty-five rescue dogs have found their forever homes through the Graves family.
